WHAT IS THE BIBLE REALLY ABOUT?
The Bible is just about one person (Jesus Christ). Why? The writing of the Bible became necessary because after the fall of man in Adam, God wanted to reveal his redemptive plan to man. This redemption was to be fulfilled by Jesus. So the Bible was centred on him.
Remember that before Moses wrote the Book of Genesis, God walked with people like Jacob, Noah, Abraham, etc without any Bible.
However, God in his dealings with them revealed the coming Messiah and his redemptive plan to them in figures, shadows and in typologies.
After that, the Prophets (Moses, Isaiah, Joel, etc) spoke about this coming Messiah in their writings. John the Baptist also testified of him. When Jesus came, this was what he told the Israelistes about the Scriptures.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which TESTIFY of me.
The Scriptures testify or talk about him. Not about any other. This is important. This was why he came to fulfil the Law and the Prophets. No other could do so because the Scriptures are not about any other but him.
Even the Mosaic Law pointed Israel to the Messiah (Galatians 3:24-25).
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the LAW was our schoolmaster to BRING us unto CHRIST, that we might be justified by faith. 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are NO LONGER under a schoolmaster.
Salvation, justification, eternal life, etc are not through the law but through Christ.
Once the One who the Prophets were pointing people to had come, the Prophets had fulfilled their mission.
Their relevance was largely in revealing the Messiah. The spotlight is on the Messiah. Not any Prophet. This was why when Apostle Peter suggested that three (3) Tabernacles be built for Jesus, Moses and Elijah, God spoke from heaven saying, 'This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, HEAR him' (Matthew 17:4-8). Immediately, Moses and Elijah vanished.
The Bible is not about David and Goliath, Abraham, Noah, the Law, etc. No. The shadows, the Prophets, and the Law were only POINTERS to Christ (the Reality or the Substance). The new testament church is to continue to reveal the One the Prophets and the Law pointed to (Jesus) and his redemptive work to humanity.
Thank God for the Biblical stories and historic events. But the reality of the Bible is a Person (Jesus). He is the Word. He is the Truth. Look unto Jesus!

This generation doesn't understand.
Most men in this generation doesn't understand its not about giving her the world, but it's actually about making her feel like she's a priority in yours.
It's about surprising her with a sweet text throughout the day to remind her you're thinking about her.
It's about coming home from work and asking about her day because you genuinely care about the answer.
It's about going to the refrigerator to get yourself a drink, and you get her one without even asking.
It's about driving down a backroad and you pull off to the side to pick her some beautiful wild flowers.
It's about cuddling on the couch in sweatpants and binge watching your favorite show on Netflix together.
It's about taking her to her favorite restaurant unannounced.
It's about slow dancing with her in the rain to a song that was written by George Strait.
It's about calling her randomly and asking how she is doing because you care about her mental health.
It's about laying her favorite dress on the bed with a note that says "put this on and be ready by 7pm".
It's about knowing the smallest details about her, like the way she likes her coffee in the morning, or her favorite smell, or what movies make her cry.
It's about going to a local ice cream parlor on a Saturday afternoon to talk about your life goals together over a couple hot fudge sundaes.
Take my advice and remember...... it doesn't always have to cost much money, it just needs to catch her off guard.

Apostle Joshua Selman speaks:
MESSAGE TITLE: The power of process.
I had the privilege by the grace of God to learn early in life that it is dangerous for a man to be committed with any thing at all ( money, honour, power, anointing, influence, etc) without adequate preparation. One of the greatest mistakes we make as young ministers is that we have such an obsession for results (signs and wonders, honour, money, prestige etc) without minding the process.
One of the things I have learnt doing business with God is that the wisdom does not come from the results but from the 'process'. The process to an end in the kingdom is more powerful than the end itself.
We have an attitude of admiring a great man's results but any thing committed to you without a track record of your dealing with God must destroy you. So we have people in ministry who want one thousand members in one year..but I challenge young people often..If you really want to be used, you must answer the question ..'why'..There are men of God who when they see me, the question they ask is how to get a double portion of the anointing and the simple question is ask is why?
Why do you want a crowd?
Why do you want money?
If we are to be honest with ourselves, the 'why' usually is to remedy the frustrations that accompany our complex or to satisfy the curiosity that comes with a competitive spirit.
Listen..
The platfom upon which your request is presented to God matters more than the request itself.
So if you want an anointing, God will probe the motive..why do you want power?
Why do you want influence?
Every time you desire a dimension in God, He will pass you through the process that will prepare you to host that grace if not it will kill you..The anointing does not just come..the body to host it must be prepared.
There is dignity in passing through a process.. Don't just copy people.. Ask questions.

There was once a group of women studying the book of Malachi in the Old Testament. As they were studying chapter three, they came across verse three, which says: “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” This verse puzzled the women, and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out about the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible study.
That week this woman called up a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver. As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.
The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot – then she thought again about the verse, that he sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.
The man answered “Yes”, and explained that he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left even a moment too long in the flames, it would be damaged.
The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, “How do you know when the silver is fully refined?”
He smiled at her and answered, “Oh, that’s easy. When I see my image in it.”
If today you are feeling the heat of this world’s fire, just remember that God, our Father has His eyes on you.

Apostle Joshua Selman speaks:
Do you know that the higher you raise, the stricter the standard of your dealings with God? If you know this, you won't be in a hurry.
There are things others will do and go Scott free..when you do same things God can deal with you ruthlessly..
Have you learnt how to manage pain, rejection and disappointments?
Have you learnt how to navigate your way when it seems as though God is silent and not answering your prayer?
Do you know the spiritual keys to apply when it seems nothing is working?
Do you know there was a time in my life that I asked God questions because of the pain and challenges in my life but God never said anything?
Let me tell you something about God..
You can go through so much pain, you will prophesy someone's solution and never hear your own solution from God. You will finish fasting over some thing and God will not answer but as soon as someone else comes, the gift glows and you solve their problems and then God says oya you come let's continue our dealing.
You can be in a season with God that everybody is moving and you want to move and God will say you wait.. You will wonder why you are still here waiting..but it is that time that you can lift up your hands with tears in your eyes and say Lord I still honour you..regardless of what am going through.
When God asks you to stay, please stay.. there is power in waiting on God.. He restores 10 years in 1 year
Waiting is hard especially when God doesn't give you reason..but this is the highest form of maturity.. there is power in waiting.
